17/30 - The Divine Feminine

17/30

I agree with @Erykah Badu and what she said about young girls wearing longer skirts. About men/boys being naturally attracted to girls/women of child-bearing age.

Not that I need to explain myself or because she needs a cosigner, but there is truth in her light. Let these words take flight and be blessed by the Most High. Peace

See, E.Badu was givin' the youth wise-Universe
Cuz in this society, respect is not givin'

to the divine feminine energy
and her physical beauty

Yes,

naturally we are attracted to the opposite sex

Reproduction is the object of the quest.

Pheromones are released in seasons of rejuvenation

We are at heightened sensitivities

Yet,

in THIS society

The naturalness of sex and attraction has been demonized

Venus Hottentot was made a mockery

because of the shape of her bust and rounded thighs

The Divine Feminine Energy,

once held high,

has been ostracized

Replaced by video vixens and stripper pole hotties
dancing for the pleasure of misogynistic men's eyes

Her natural beauty has been mimicked,

her full lips and shapely eyes

have been appropriated

Leaving her to feel

as if she's no longer celebrated

I tell my young siSt⭐rs and my own daughter, to show some self-respect

See,
She has to DEMAND it, or she'll have nothing left.

It's not that covering up her beauty or her shapely body

will magically make her less likely to be raped or deflect demeaning names common today

She's not a bitch, a hoe or a T.H.O.T.

She's the essence of the Universe

The shining light

Her energy is like the Sirrius st⭐r burning in the darkness

She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders and the future of mankind between her thighs

She's an empress, a Goddess, a princess, a Queen on high.

It's been all too common-place

to make her feel a disgrace

To promote her physicalities for sexual pleasure

To sexualize her be-ing and make her mistrust

To force her to take on the role of the man

Raise his seeds with a single hand

Too many youth today don't have a mom and/or a dad to show them the way

To see a man treat his woman like a queen and pedestal her

To see a woman treat her man like a king, the protector and provider of his domain

No we are not property, this ain't slavery

We are the embodiment of the universe's plan.

To walk this earth hand in hand.

There would be no feminist movement or a need to reclaim our Feminine Pow-her

If we would recognize the real and uphold Nature's promise

Be kind,
take care of
Protect

MOTHER's nature, she holds the power of life and death, her wrath is a force to be reckoned with

Recognize the woman's Divineness

Give respect where is respect is due. The world will be a much better place if we do.

 Peace

Yeah ... that.

You ever been with, around or close to someone
Who makes you feel so much?
Amplifies every color?
Makes your skin glow from the slightest touch?
Finishes your sentences
And invades your thoughts?

Yeah, that.

That one who notices every little detail
From how you wear your hair
To the faintness of your perfume smell
How your brow raises in thought
Or when your mood changes
He's right there cheering you on
Arms wide open, hugging you so warm

Your cheeks hurt from smiling so much
He laughs at your corny jokes and such
His gaze is so focused, you are afraid he'll see right through you
And when your eyes meet his
He feels the complete you

Yeah.
That.

Too bad, he's the guy across the street, or behind the counter
Or he's taken by another
Or he's just a figment in your dreams
Yet you keep holding on to the feeling
That one day he'll notice you and wake you up

dis-jointed dedicated 2 my brothers & siSt⭐rs

“dis-JOINTED”

I’ve been holding this in for awhile now
I think that it's time for us to have a sit down
a face to face a conversation
there are some things that need discussing
first, I miss you
I apologize for not standing up for you
for trying to hold it down on my own
but since you started to neglect yourself
and place blame on everyone else but yourself
I didn't know what to do
but to distance myself from you
now I see that it was wrong of me
to leave you in your time of need
we are made for each other
complimentary colors,
mixtures of different hues
the plight we share
as each generation grows
is the same
but the foundation
has crumbled and is beginning to fade

so I ask that we pitch in
and get to work
it's gonna get messy
and some feelings may get hurt
individually
we have been carrying a great weight
and the longer we allow this burden
to sink us further
I fear that there will be a day
we will not be able to reach each other

so today I ask
that we stop the disrespect
stop running and stand your ground
that we acknowledge each other
and not tear our spirits down
not give into meaningless
degradation
but that we work on
rebuilding this foundation
find the trust for one another again
that we come together
and stand united, brotha to sistah
friend to friend
arm in arm we not surrender
or give into the fears
that have been plaguing
our communities, our psyches
for so many years
let not another stake be wedged
between us
let's defend this
space that we have
between us
by bridging the gap
so tight, and enforcing
this connection
with all our might

so my brotha, my sistah
do you forgive me?
as I have forgiven you ...

Just breathe...

The other night, I woke up to a thought: Money is not evil, nor is money the root of evil. Without people's worship of money, it would be worthless. It's just paper.

Often, ones place more value in the thought instead of the action of acquiring "things". If only I had this, I could get this, and then I would be ______. A cycle that doesn't end because one is always chasing the next "thing". First the thought of how to obtain it, then the action of getting it (with or without consequence).

We fight one and others for "things". We kill one and others for "things". We worship those we perceive as having "things" we may not. Longing for the intangibles, we forget about how, who and what we are, were or will be withOUT those "things".

In birth, we are given but one thing ... breath of life. In death, it is taken away.

Living would be so simple, if there were less focus on acquiring "things" we do not need.

Why do we destroy each other for "things" when the ONE and only thing that matters is living?

#Untitled

Perhaps,
if I believed in wishes,
more would come true
Reality sets in,
shaded a grayish blue
I bring my own personal sunshine
It's the only way to be
When your heart is set on
making dreams
possibilities
All to often,
our minds trick us
Making believe
that what's out there,
is not for us
Who's to say
what promises have been made?

Like Langston said
so long ago
"Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams go, life is a barren field frozen over with snow..."

And I say,
stay the course,
although obstacles may appear
If you forget your dreams,
Or put them to the side
Even your own personal sunshine
May run and hide

writing SOMETHING cold

i wanted to write something

 S o m E T H i N G

 just joking, Ha!

 listening 2 D'Angelo
tellin' me 2 send it on
 i realize that
i
do
not
like
winter

 or  cold
 it's chill y frost y

        without warmth

 of another person near

 2 snuggle
chill away
tell me spring is on it's edge

that's not what I wanted to write either

 just a sentimental feeling

 about how much
i actually

hate
winter

i always remember my favorite poem
by Robert Frost                     Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening

... i have miles to go before I sleep,
miles to go before I sleep

alert to all that is going on around me
 trying to decide
where to focus this energy
 manifesting in me
 as the universe conspires
 for me
 to bring me
to a place
it says is for me
be around those
that are (in)for me
want to be with me in spirit, guidance, learning,
adding more roots to my tree

I do not like this time of year
with consumerism,
there is no cheer for me
 celebrating a fake baby
that did nothing for you

or me

not succumbing
 to a fallacy
bright and shining star is already present

 within me
 i am present,
 gift  me
      you are my gift
 my treasure
here on earth

 but i am not seen
 beneath the dark, cold sky

 twinkling
in my eyes
 hidden by shadows
  moonlight has yet to capture
out side crisp night air,
(in)side a heated space
i will lay my head down
 dream of sandy beaches
far away
 where  warm waves
of ocean caress my feet

i will dream away these winter blues
believing in warmth

 summer's radiant hues
i'll put on my fuzzy socks

creating friction
remove chill from my feet
as i cocoon myself in cotton blankets

did i remember to write something?

  S O M E T H I n G

 i
do

not
like

 winter

 it's too cold

my thoughts are frozen

Father's Day 2014

My youth were raised in a single parent household ...

I am a woman, a mother, the nurturer, the gentle touch, the soft spoken voice of reason. Sure, I've been the disciplinarian, the breadwinner, the household repair person, the lawn care provider and many other roles that may have at one time been gender assigned. But one thing I am not, is a man. I will never be a father. I didn't teach my sons to stand up and pee, I couldn't possibly understand what it's like to be a he. I haven't taught them how to shave and I learned to tie a tie by practice. I will not ever be as strong as a man nor will I pretend that I can. Sure, I may wear pants, but with a feminine stance. I am only one half, the X, he provides the Y and determines the sex. It takes us two to create a youth and when the one day comes around a year, I'm going to give him his just due. I'll not take this time to steal his shine. I'll not add a tag to pin to his coat. I'll not take away his masculine energy. I will promote him and acknowledge those men that do. They fill the role that their supposed to. He cares for his seed and teaches them the way.  I give him all his props this and every other Father's Day!!!

Wishing all the fathers and father figures out there taking care of, providing proper guidance to and raising their youth (or taking on the responsibility for another man) a Very Happy Father's Day. Bless⬆

To the Edge

I went to the edge
At the shoreline
Where the ebbing tide
Met the dry earth
Crouching down
Then leaning forward
I peered over the edge
Careful not to get wet
I teetered on the edge
With just enough lean
I saw it
My reflection
Water mirroring me
My face
On the edge
There I slightly glanced
toward the horizon
I was peering at the edge
Seemingly endless the expanse of water
I could see forever
Then I looked back
And caught my eyes looking at me
In them
I saw forever at the edge
Straightening just enough
To not fall backward
I placed my elbows on my knees
And balanced
There on the edge
I raised my head and balanced
My eyes on the horizon
Like the bubble does on a leveler
Leveling my balance
I didn't waiver
I didn't teeter
Neither forward
So as not to get wet
Nor backward
So as not to fall
I was there on the edge
Of the horizon
The edge of the water
The place where the earth met
The edge of forever
And there
I was balanced

Got Damn Today Pt 2

“Got Damn Today!” Pt. 2

I dun fucked up
Yep, I did it again
so I'm sitting here
contemplating a win
Not wanting to fail again and again
I keep trying, bootstraps applying
pouring out my heart and soul
Failure seems an endless end
how many times do I keep trying
how many headaches do I have to experience
How many missed chances, I guess I’m delirious
can't think straight, don't know nothin
all this over compensating ain't gettin me no where
at least not to where I wanna go
I guess I’m impatient cuz things are moving too slow
I want to win I want to succeed
but is it all my blood that I must bleed
in order to become successful and feel the blessings
yeah I guess I’m envious
of all the people that make it and can smile on the daily
damn it can't you feel my pain
I’m reaching out here, I’m going insane
life has got me today
I can't deny that, this feeling in my gut
is telling me that
but I know we all go through days of ups and downs
today I’m feeling the down, and right now it's not escaping me
I’m getting numb
not wanting to feel no more
this life is a struggle, you never know one day to the next
so all I can do is flex my mental muscle
and try to figure out the next hustle
we all go through thangs that make us holler
and it's guaranteed that the sun still gon shine tomorrow!

A Life in Motion

I am vulnerable to my emotions
I am not a cold-hearted soul
Roaming this already dark earth
Choosing to use my powers for good
Putting forth great effort to honor the code
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
This world is full of negative energy
Being blocked forcefully with positivity
Many choose to reflect, deflect and project
Away from their light
It is in there, within each of us
Embrace it and shine
Emoting does not make one weak
It makes you alive, a life ... living

The Dash Club -

I was given the book 'The Dash Club' by Darrell D. Simms to read by a colleague. The premise of the book is to define your "dash".

Your "dash"? Well as the author explains and goes on to give you guidance on defining your dash; it's the space in between your birthdate and your deathdate. On a headstone for a grave site, it always says your name and some thoughtful words or not but then there's the place where it shows your birthdate - deathdate. The dash is your life and how you go about living it, or not.

I decided to take the time to blog about not just my thoughts on reading the book but hopefully how I will start, refine, redefine or continue my dash. See despite what some say and many think, life is hard. Many people like me don't always know how to enjoy life, find peace and contentment. Everyone struggles but some, like I have, have let their struggles define their dash. I want to change that.

This book may not have all of the answers but so far it's giving me great pointers and a different perspective. I also see that it's not always grey clouds, I have had some sunshine. :-) I'm only on chapter 2 but I will continue and hopefully help someone while helping myself.
