Hurt consumes
It lingers, festers
Penetrating open wounds
Breeding new viruses
Spreading to hosts
Hopeless, desensitized
Demoralized
Dehumanized
Looking for an in
Poisoning others
Words unsympathetic
Hurt isn't selfish
It wants to be shared
Nurtured, coddled
It doesn't link rejection
Hurt needs new friends
Called faith, healing, and forgiveness

Endurance is a character trait
Held by those whose vision
Surpasses the here and now
Yet they stay present
In tune
Ears to the ground
Chess vs checkers
Long game vs short
Knowing that some view
This life as sport
While others know this is spirit
Practice
Warrior rehearsal
Mindfulness training
Endurance is a character trait
Held by those whose vision
Surpasses the here and now
Yet they stay present
In tune
Ears to the ground

The ?S
What if Get Out was a warning?
What if the proposed wall is designed to keep us in?
What if we've already encountered aliens?
What if there were no borders?
What would happen if black folks got reparations?
What if we're already living in the past and the future was yesterday?
What if Prince didn't die?
If music brings peace and happiness, why don't more people get along?
What if we actually vibrated at the same frequency?
What if all the questions were answered?
Would there still be more ?s

Haven't written in awhile
Don't know why I wait so long
When April comes, poetry is strong
So much going on, in life
There's plenty to write about
Never wanted to stick out
Played the background
Thought that was where I belonged
I too have a story to tell
Each day, this April, maybe you'll
Get to know me well
Maybe you'll see the light in me
Finally shining from all the darkness
Maybe you'll relate to my story
Maybe you'll want to share
There's a testimony in these words
I hope you wish me well

From the very beginning, a child prodigy who became a musical genius.
He came from a spirit-filled family and his works are filled with both sexual (the human side) and spiritual (the God side).
See, we're all God's children.
I believe that Prince knew his purpose, fulfilled it, and when he was done, he went back home. All u really need to do is listen to the Affirmations on Art Official Age.
Yes, he knew his time was nearing its end. After the final Atlanta show he tweeted that he had been transformed. Those Piano & A Microphone shows were his last gifts to us. If u noticed, he made sure to play around the world in major cities.
Prince has always left "clues" in his music. He always stayed the same, just trying to reach the masses with his message of L💜ve4OneAnother.
I believe that God sends people to Earth to share specific information so that humanity can learn compassion and become a united front for love. God is Love. Prince loved God. Now we must L💜v3OneAnother. Peace O(+>

17/30 - The Divine Feminine
I agree with @Erykah Badu and what she said about young girls wearing longer skirts. About men/boys being naturally attracted to girls/women of child-bearing age.
Not that I need to explain myself or because she needs a cosigner, but there is truth in her light. Let these words take flight and be blessed by the Most High. Peace
See, E.Badu was givin' the youth wise-Universe
Cuz in this society, respect is not givin'
to the divine feminine energy
and her physical beauty
Yes,
naturally we are attracted to the opposite sex
Reproduction is the object of the quest.
Pheromones are released in seasons of rejuvenation
We are at heightened sensitivities
Yet,
in THIS society
The naturalness of sex and attraction has been demonized
Venus Hottentot was made a mockery
because of the shape of her bust and rounded thighs
The Divine Feminine Energy,
once held high,
has been ostracized
Replaced by video vixens and stripper pole hotties
dancing for the pleasure of misogynistic men's eyes
Her natural beauty has been mimicked,
her full lips and shapely eyes
have been appropriated
Leaving her to feel
as if she's no longer celebrated
I tell my young siSt⭐rs and my own daughter, to show some self-respect
See,
She has to DEMAND it, or she'll have nothing left.
It's not that covering up her beauty or her shapely body
will magically make her less likely to be raped or deflect demeaning names common today
She's not a bitch, a hoe or a T.H.O.T.
She's the essence of the Universe
The shining light
Her energy is like the Sirrius st⭐r burning in the darkness
She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders and the future of mankind between her thighs
She's an empress, a Goddess, a princess, a Queen on high.
It's been all too common-place
to make her feel a disgrace
To promote her physicalities for sexual pleasure
To sexualize her be-ing and make her mistrust
To force her to take on the role of the man
Raise his seeds with a single hand
Too many youth today don't have a mom and/or a dad to show them the way
To see a man treat his woman like a queen and pedestal her
To see a woman treat her man like a king, the protector and provider of his domain
No we are not property, this ain't slavery
We are the embodiment of the universe's plan.
To walk this earth hand in hand.
There would be no feminist movement or a need to reclaim our Feminine Pow-her
If we would recognize the real and uphold Nature's promise
Be kind,
take care of
Protect
MOTHER's nature, she holds the power of life and death, her wrath is a force to be reckoned with
Recognize the woman's Divineness
Give respect where is respect is due. The world will be a much better place if we do.
Peace

9/30 - Tipping Point
They say, opinions are like azzholes ... everybody's got one
Well,
Everyone has a heart too
Everyone has the ability to be compassionate
Everyone has a brain, filled with thoughts ... good and bad
Just imagine if everyone used their powers for good
For the good of everyone else
Some would say, that's a very utopic idea.
And then there would be the ones that say, where's the balance if everyone is doing good for everyone else.
Imagine that. Where's the balance in the bad? In judging? In not being a humanitarian? In not being empathetic? Huh
Does your heart feel
Does your heart feel
Does your heart feel ...
heavier or lighter on your scale?
What's the tipping point?
Peace

8/30 - elevator thoughts
OK, so, I know the purpose of elevators
Cuz like, unless ur super fitness minded, most are lazy ( like myself) and press the button
Ding
Oh snap, here comes the anxiety
Oh no, you're too close
Why are they all up in my space?
Why are they not speaking English?
Are they talking about me?
I face the door
Waiting all of two minutes, that feels like forever, when is the door gonna open?
Why'd he wear so much Cologne?
I can't breathe.
Dang, why is it so quiet?
I don't wanna be stuck in here, this little box, with these six strangers
Hurry up
What happens if we get stuck
Do I push the fire button
Oh shit!! I'm stuck in here with six strangers
I gotta pee!!

FutUre, 2morrOw
Phew, where to begin
I didn't think in 2015
We'd still be trying to keep King's dream
Growing up, back in the day
Seemed like the future was something
We all wanted to belong to
So many things in the past
Thought we'd get past
Yet, some people wanna forget
The others, well they try
But every day it keeps coming back
All this religion
Ain't nobody saved Yet?
Where did the souls go
The ones that paved these roads
What happened to humanity
One could say, gone to INSANITY
It's crazy to think, to say, to do, or to be
Just another human be-ing
We're passing strangers, things
Getting stranger by the day
When we get too close
There's no words left to say
Just throw up your hands and holler
I wanna think, hope, pray for a better tomorrow
But then I realize, that's what our parents said
So what do we tell our children
In all this strife and sorrow
Things have got to get better
Or there will be no future, tomorrow

Oh To Be
So far out in the ether
Monday, August 31, 2015
Yeah ... that.
You ever been with, around or close to someone
Who makes you feel so much?
Amplifies every color?
Makes your skin glow from the slightest touch?
Finishes your sentences
And invades your thoughts?
Yeah, that.
That one who notices every little detail
From how you wear your hair
To the faintness of your perfume smell
How your brow raises in thought
Or when your mood changes
He's right there cheering you on
Arms wide open, hugging you so warm
Your cheeks hurt from smiling so much
He laughs at your corny jokes and such
His gaze is so focused, you are afraid he'll see right through you
And when your eyes meet his
He feels the complete you
Yeah.
That.
Too bad, he's the guy across the street, or behind the counter
Or he's taken by another
Or he's just a figment in your dreams
Yet you keep holding on to the feeling
That one day he'll notice you and wake you up

dis-jointed dedicated 2 my brothers & siSt⭐rs
“dis-JOINTED”
I’ve been holding this in for awhile now
I think that it's time for us to have a sit down
a face to face a conversation
there are some things that need discussing
first, I miss you
I apologize for not standing up for you
for trying to hold it down on my own
but since you started to neglect yourself
and place blame on everyone else but yourself
I didn't know what to do
but to distance myself from you
now I see that it was wrong of me
to leave you in your time of need
we are made for each other
complimentary colors,
mixtures of different hues
the plight we share
as each generation grows
is the same
but the foundation
has crumbled and is beginning to fade
so I ask that we pitch in
and get to work
it's gonna get messy
and some feelings may get hurt
individually
we have been carrying a great weight
and the longer we allow this burden
to sink us further
I fear that there will be a day
we will not be able to reach each other
so today I ask
that we stop the disrespect
stop running and stand your ground
that we acknowledge each other
and not tear our spirits down
not give into meaningless
degradation
but that we work on
rebuilding this foundation
find the trust for one another again
that we come together
and stand united, brotha to sistah
friend to friend
arm in arm we not surrender
or give into the fears
that have been plaguing
our communities, our psyches
for so many years
let not another stake be wedged
between us
let's defend this
space that we have
between us
by bridging the gap
so tight, and enforcing
this connection
with all our might
so my brotha, my sistah
do you forgive me?
as I have forgiven you ...

Get caught up in my thoughts and such.
Make dreams realities and wet paintings touched.
Where stars are dark matters burning lights.
Caught in thoughts
Where birds take wingless flights
and fish live in trees.
Sense isn't made by dollars making change.
When the sun reverses and becomes the moon,
tides sucked into the ocean's vacuum.
I think too much,
Like dreams are strange.
When realities are no longer games.

Leap of Faith
Drifting
between
what is right
what may be
wrong.
Finding
Not fitting
in the niche
where one
belongs.
Listening
to voices
seldom
heard.
Wanting
to be
forewarned
instead of
misunderstood.
How does one know
which choice to make?
Which chance to forsake?
When to await
karma's fate?
Traveling roads
for destinations
unknown.
Wrong turns
made
at the fork.
Decisions,
choices,
destiny
or fate.
Human,
born to make
mistakes.
Lessons
learned,
accept
what's beyond
the gate.
Only locks
left
unturned,
bind
chains
of regret.
Ponder
a short while,
step forward.
Take a leap
of faith.

#Untitled
Perhaps,
if I believed in wishes,
more would come true
Reality sets in,
shaded a grayish blue
I bring my own personal sunshine
It's the only way to be
When your heart is set on
making dreams
possibilities
All to often,
our minds trick us
Making believe
that what's out there,
is not for us
Who's to say
what promises have been made?
Like Langston said
so long ago
"Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams go, life is a barren field frozen over with snow..."
And I say,
stay the course,
although obstacles may appear
If you forget your dreams,
Or put them to the side
Even your own personal sunshine
May run and hide

One planet

Same wavelength
Different frequency
Let's meet on the plane
Of positivity
Telekinetically
Otherwise
Vibrate low
Miss the grand show
It'll illuminate ya flow
Yet the light's
Distractions
Keep ya blinded
Stay n DA dark
Neva'mind it

Relatively Thinking
I start to dwell in,
on the heaviness of things
I remember
how tiny
and insignificant
trivial matters are
When we look beyond
our small range of vision
Thinking
how bold and powerful we are
In the grand scheme of things
It's all just energy
Negative -
Or
Positive +
However you choose
to fuel your inner-G
Is where you dwell
This universe is too big
This blue, green marble we're on
is just a speck of dust
in creation
All there is
And ever will be
Just is
And it's all
Relative
#perspective
A famous person once said,
"What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when we bring what is within out into the world, miracles happen."
(This quote can be attributed to Henry David Thoreau or Ralph Waldo Emerson. I'll let the scholars decide.)

Flawed Beautiful Creatures
I first heard the song "Flawed Beautiful Creatures" by Stacy Barthe while watching an episode of Love and Hip Hop. The title and the lyrics of the song resonated deeply with me, as I see so many of us, yes US, walking around as flawed, beautiful, creatures. With the height of war and racial tension in the air, fluctuating economics and social media distractions, I wanted to share some of my thoughts.
Beware of the dream killer, beware of the negative hound, beware of the light dimmer, beware of anything or anyone that means you no good. If someone or something is not adding value to your life, remove it or distance yourself from it.
With that being said, I am so glad for all of the perfect, problemless people out there in the world. Those where nothing is wrong and everything is right. Perfect. If there are such people, I mean this sincerely and I wish them all the best. Unfortunately, there are no perfect, problemless people. No, not one. We as individuals, whether rich or poor, whatever race, whatever circumstance, whatever religion, whatever spirituality, we are humans, facing a human existence in a world of unknowns.
I am a firm believer that everyone has a gift. We are all purpose-filled. Otherwise, we would not be here. We all deserve love just as much as the next person. Some will use their gift(s) for negative thought and/or action, some will use their gift for more positive, moral laden thought or action. Others, may never realize their gift and spend their lives seeking.
Wherever you are, is where you are supposed to be. It is not necessarily permanent. We all have a story. My story may be different from others but our stories are similar. My judgements are moot because I choose to find the good. It is a conscious decision for me to look for the good in others. Since I do not know their circumstance, who am I to judge another?
There will always be someone, somewhere telling you that you are not worthy. You are!! You're weird. Be weird. You're too this, too that, not enough of this, too much of that, be this, not that, etc. I am so glad that the artistic child with autism wasn't told to just sit down and shut up. Instead they were given a paint brush or crayons or an instrument to hone their gift. What if Mozart, Einstein, Michelangelo, Darwin or so many other famous people throughout the world; who were geniuses were dismissed because of their perceived mental illness, awkwardness, 'crazy talk' or whatever? Just think about how much society as a whole would have missed out had Paulo Coelho never escaped from the mental institution that his parents tried to commit him to as a child, all because he wanted to be a writer?
We cannot simply be dismissive of people who we may think are wrong because they do not follow your preconceived notions. Or act the way that we think they should act. Or look the way you think they should look. We are humans, living on a planet, suspended in space. Creation is perfect, humans are flawed, yet beautiful creatures.
Everyone's path is not the same. Some follow the path of least resistance, some make their own paths, some make a strategic effort to dodge all of the obstacles, while some others are forced into a path they did not create nor intend to travel. There will be obstacles, there will be naysayers, do not be deterred, give in to your destiny. That voice inside telling you to create the next greatest invention, or give a warm smile to a stranger, pay it forward, protest against injustice, or just be a friend to someone in need, do that. Be that. No one is born inherently evil, hate is learned ... just like love.
Something profound I heard while taking a class on religious diversity was that God, the Creator, The Most High, Supreme Being, Allah, Jehovah, or whatever you call It or They makes EVERYTHING in pairs. Meaning that there will always be good and evil, man and woman, protons and electrons, etc. It is by choice on whether we choose to live our human existence in a negative or positive manner. Whether we choose to do good and be good. Whether we choose to add value or detract. I implore everyone to take a look at your life, just as I have at mine and make a conscious choice to use your powers for good. Don't be the dream killer. Sure there is a voice of reason, listen to it and use it, if it resonates with you. Do not be afraid to make your own path, sometimes going against the grain may be a lonely and tedious effort but it is your own purpose that is soley yours to fill. There is only one you, you flawed, beautiful creature.
"Flawed Beautiful Creatures"
Sometimes we're insecure, we're fragile
Sometimes we laugh at each other to make ourselves feel better
Sometimes we lie, sometimes we say things
That we really don't mean
But in the moment, seem like the thing to do
[Chorus:]
We're all flawed beautiful people
We're all flawed beautiful creatures
We're all flawed beautiful people
We're all flawed beautiful creatures
Is it a crime if a man kills to protect his own from harm's way
Who will be the judge anyway
What would you have done if the gun was in his hands
Feet were in his shoes
Guess you'll never know what you won't do
Cause in the moment might seem like the thing to do
[Chorus:]We're all flawed beautiful people
We're all flawed beautiful creatures
We're all flawed beautiful people
We're all flawed beautiful creatures
Sometimes we gotta loose it to find it
We gotta loose
Sometimes we win, we live a while then gotta die
Why? Why?
[Chorus:]We're all flawed beautiful people
We're all flawed beautiful creatures
We're all flawed beautiful people
We're all flawed beautiful creatures."
