Everything & Nothing 

I skipped a couple of days

Had to get my thoughts together

So much going on in the world

Hard to just keep track of the weather

I reminisce with bliss of days in the past

That seemed lighter, less chaotic

Didn't have to constantly fact check cos peeps were being real

Now down is up left is right and the sky is purple

There's a silver lining in all this

Once the masses have truly tapped in

They'll realize it was all a dream

There's nothing new under this sun

Until we all sleep and awake to none

Hurt consumes
It lingers, festers
Penetrating open wounds
Breeding new viruses
Spreading to hosts 
Hopeless, desensitized
Demoralized
Dehumanized
Looking for an in
Poisoning others
Words unsympathetic
Hurt isn't selfish
It wants to be shared
Nurtured, coddled
It doesn't link rejection
Hurt needs new friends
Called faith, healing, and forgiveness

In tune
Ears to the ground
Chess vs checkers
Long game vs short
Knowing that some view
This life as sport
While others know this is spirit
Practice
Warrior rehearsal
Mindfulness training

Haven't written in awhile
Don't know why I wait so long
When April comes, poetry is strong
So much going on, in life
There's plenty to write about
Never wanted to stick out
Played the background
Thought that was where I belonged
I too have a story to tell
Each day, this April, maybe you'll
Get to know me well
Maybe you'll see the light in me
Finally shining from all the darkness
Maybe you'll relate to my story
Maybe you'll want to share
There's a testimony in these words
I hope you wish me well
